Sleningford Watermill Caravan & Camping Park - Rules & Regulations
RULES & REGULATIONS
The following rules and regulations are in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all our visitors. Any person who fails to adhere to these rules and regulations may be asked to leave the Park. These Rules & Regulations form part of our Terms & Conditions, which must be agreed to before making a booking.
- Please act in a courteous and considerate manner towards us, our staff and other visitors. Inappropriate or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated from any person on the Park.
- Please supervise children properly so that they are not a nuisance or danger to themselves or others. Do not allow them to play at the water or fire points.
- Do not commit any criminal offence whilst at the Park or undertake any criminal activity, including the use of unlawful drugs.
- Do not commit any acts of vandalism or nuisance.
- Do not keep or carry or use any firearm or any other weapon at the Park.
- Do not carry on any trade or business whilst on the Park.
- The speed limit is 5mph throughout the whole park, including the driveway down from the main road.
- All vehicles must conform to the Road Traffic Act and have current tax, MT and insurance. The provisions of the Highway Code apply to the roads on the Park. Caravans must be fully insured by the owner.
- Visitors are not allowed to bring lorries or other commercial vehicles on to the Park without the prior permission of the Managers. This includes towing vehicles.
- No recreational vehicles can be used on the Park. This includes motorised scooters.
- No mechanical or repair work is to be undertaken on the Park unless it is being carried out by a roadside rescue organisation, e.g. AA, RAC etc.
- A maximum of 2 vehicles can be parked next to the pitch. All other vehicles, including trailers and boats, must be parked in the main car park unless agreed otherwise. During busy periods, it may be necessary to only permit one vehicle per pitch.
- On premium pitches, you are requested to park your vehicle next to your unit and not behind it, e.g. caravan-awning-car. Caravan entrances or awnings must not face other caravan entrances or awnings.
- All units must be pitched in accordance with management instructions and must have a gap of at least 3m between units.
- No unit must have a greater number of occupants than the specified number of berths.
- Pitches are available from 12.30pm on the day of arrival and all pitches must be vacated by 12.30pm on the day of your departure, unless you have agreed (and paid for) an earlier arrival or departure time with the Managers. If you wish to stay later than 12.30pm please come to Reception before 12.30pm to check availability.
- Please ensure that you keep your pitch tidy and that you check your pitch before you leave to ensure it is free of litter. All rubbish bags must be placed in the metal dustbins and not in the litter bins which are provided for litter only. Please recycle newspaper, bottles and cans in the recycling bins in the main courtyard or leave bottles and cans in the crates on The Island. Free black sacks are available from Reception (one per pitch).
- Only breathable groundsheets are permitted on grassed areas and all groundsheets should be lifted whenever possible.
- Do not create any undue noise or disturbance. Quiet hours are from 9.30pm to 7.30am. Please respect your fellow guests and keep noise to an absolute minimum.
- The use of generators is not permitted on the Park without prior permission from the Managers.
- There is only a 10amp electrical system on the Park so the use domestic electrical appliances such as kettles and heaters is not permitted.
- Please make yourself aware of the nearest fire point. Fire fighting equipment is provided on the park but you are advised to have some form of fire fighting appliance in your unit.
- Open fires and ground level barbeques are not permitted. All barbeques must be elevated off the ground. Please dispose of coals when completely cold in the metal dustbins. Barbeques may be prohibited during exceptionally dry weather.
- Smoking is not permitted in any of the Park’s buildings.
- We endeavour to maintain the toilet blocks, laundry room and other public areas to a high standard. We ask for your co-operation to keep them that way.
- The electronic gates do not permit access to the Park between 11.00pm and 7.00am. Visitors going out late or early need to park their vehicle outside the gates. The gates will only be opened in an emergency and you need to inform any visitors you may have during your stay. Anyone returning after 11.00pm must ensure they keep noise to an absolute minimum when walking back across the Park to their pitch.
- All visitors to the Park must report to Reception and pay the appropriate fee.
- Fire fighting equipment is provided on the Park but caravanners and campers are advised to have some form of fire-fighting appliance in their unit.
- Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, although they are permitted to swim in the river as long as they don’t cause concern to other users of the river. This rule applies to ALL dogs, irrespective of their breed, size, age or temperament. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their animals. Do not leave your dog unattended at any time and they are not permitted in any of the buildings on the Park (including Reception) unless they are assistance dogs.
- Cutting or damaging trees and other vegetation (including wild flowers) is strictly prohibited and the natural conditions of the Park are not to be disturbed. This includes tying ropes to, or driving nails into, or breaking branches off trees. Rope swings are not permitted and will be cut down if found.
- Stone-throwing is not permitted, particularly when canoeists and anglers are in the river.
- Do not fly kites on the park.
- Only fly-fishing is allowed on the river and tickets can be purchased at Reception upon production of a current EA Licence.
- Dish washing can be done in the Laundry Room and outside the Pyramid Toilet Block and should not be done in the Toilet Blocks.
- The river is used by anglers, canoeists and families. Please be aware that moving water is always dangerous, whatever the level, and you enter the water at your own risk. Children especially must be supervised at all times.
Sleningford Watermill Co. Ltd. shall not be liable for any loss or damage to your property by theft or otherwise or for personal injury.
