Booking
My friends have got a tent and I have got a caravan…can we be pitched together?
Yes. When you make your booking make sure you let us know that you have a friend. We will reserve them a space. Then they can put their booking in and we will link it to yours making sure that you are together.
Can motorhomes pitch on the grass electric areas?
Yes
Do you accept group bookings?
Yes but each member of the group will need to put in their own booking.
How do we book as a group?
The lead booker will need to put in their booking and request the number of pitches needed.
I am on a standard grass pitch can I be next to my friend?
Our Riverside Meadow is free pitching but there is plenty of space to pitch with friends. It is always easier to arrive at similar times and we ask that you have a gap between all your tents.
Can i get close to the river?
We have allocated Riverside hardstanding pitches and also pitches near the river on Riverside Meadow ( non electric). This is free pitching.
My friends are coming for slightly different dates to me…can we still be together on adjacent pitches?
Absolutely but you may have a different neighbour on the other nights.
We are arriving on bikes, is there somewhere secure we can leave them?
We do have a bike rack that is secured to the ground.
We are arriving on foot, is there a discount if we haven’t brought a car?
Please put this is special requirements and we will apply a small discount before you pay.
Who is a pup tent for?
This is for children only and must be on you pitch.
Can we bring a larger gazebo for our group?
This would depend on your pitch and would be subject to an addtional charge.
Arriving and departing
What time can I arrive on site?
Check in is at 1pm. The reception is closed over lunchtime to allow staff to check pitches and prepare for our new guests.
When is check out?
Check out is at 11.30am
What is a late leave?
This allows you to stay on site till 5pm but can only be purchasedd whist on site and is subject to your pitch being free.
Restrictions
Do you allow generators?
No
Do you allow fires?
We have a strict no fire policy– no fire pits, no chimineas, no ground fires, no gas fire pits, no cooking with wood.
Do you allow BBQs?
We do allow BBQs untill 9pm. Please raise BBQs off grass to reduce fire risk. BBQ stands are available to borrow free of charge from reception.
Can I used a drone, kite, metal detector at Sleningford?
Due to powerline and electric cables these items are not permitted.
Access to the park
The gate will open at 6am and close at 11pm.
Food & Drink
Can I walk to a local restaurant?
We have 3 great pubs withing walking distanc all are dog friendly but you will need to book to avoid disappointment.
Do takeaways deliver?
We have a list of takaways in the shop. you must meet them at reception.
Local transport
Is there a local bus
We have a timetable in reception.
Can you recommend a taxi?
We have a list of local firms in reception.

Dogs
How many dogs can I bring?
You can bring a maximum of 3 well behaved dogs. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times but we can advise on excellent walks and exercise areas off site.
Are dogs allowed in the Flat?
Yes from September the flat will be pet friendly.
Is it possible to request a pitch which wouldn’t have dogs on the neighbouring pitch?
We will do our best to accomodate this for you but our site will be dog friendly in all areas from September 2024.
River use
Is the river suitable for stand-up paddle boards?
Yes, lots of people paddle board here.
Can we hire canoeing equipment from you?
No you must bring your own kit which is sutible for the river.
Can I fish in the river?
Yes it is fly fishing only and we must see a valid license.
Do you offer instruction for canoeing?
No.
Do you offer fishing lessons?
No but there are local instructor.
Facilities
Do you have hairdryers available for use, or electric sockets in the shower blocks?
Hair dryers can be found in both the Courtyard and Pyramid shower blocks in the ladies shower.
Do you need coins for the showers?
No our showers are all included with your stay.
Are the showers and toilets open at night?
Yes facilities are open 24 hours a day.
Do you have information about local walks and tourist attractions?
Yes we have a designated information room, maps available from our shop and knowledgeable staff.
Is there a freezer-pack exchange?
We have a freezer available to store your icepacks.
Are there places for children to play?
We are a very nature focuses campsite so encourage children to engage with nature and enjoy the river, beach and trees. We do ask that they are supervised and also have trails and spotter sheets available in our reception. We also have bug kits.
Do you have wifi?
No, but the loca pubs do. Also there are patches with good 4G
Do you have jump leads?
Yes we do and will always do our best to help.
Shop
Do you sell free from products?
Yes we have a small selection including a vegan ice cream choice.
Do you have an alcohol licence?
Yes and we sell wine, beer, ciders etc.
Do you sell inflatables?
No sorry.
Do you sell gas bottles?
We only sell butane.
What are your opening hours?
The shop's opening hours are always advertised and vary slightly depending on season. However weekend we tend to open 8.30 till 8pm with a break for lunch.
Do you take card?
We take cash and card payments in our shop.
Electric
We have solar panels and don’t need EHU, can we take our large motorhome close to the river on the non electric area?
We have a large area on nonelectric which is free pitching. Large motorhomes are absolutely fine but occasionally we will need to be guided by the weather.
Can we borrow EHU cables?
Yes we do have a small number available to borrow for extenders on certain pitches.
Where is the nearest charging point for our electric car?
We are hoping to get charging points in the near future but in the meantime Booths in Ripon our nearest charge point.
I’m opting for non electric camping - Is there somewhere I can charge my phone?
We do have a plug socket in the laundry room but we ask that your devises are in good condition.
Is there good phone signal at the campsite?
This is dependent on network, but the signal is quite weak here. Giving you plenty of time to have a break from screen time and enjoy the wildlife.
We have an electric wheelchair; is there somewhere we can charge the battery?
Yes you can do this in the laundry room.
What ampage does the park run at?

Visitors
Can I have a day visitor
Yes but we do have a small charge of £2 for adults and £1 for children. Also car parking is £5. All visitors must report to reception for a pass.
